The Inevitable Future of the Starless Core Barnard 68

Post date: Sep 9, 2009 10:30:52 AM

Radical view of the Barnard 68 cloud as a merger of two dense cores. Andi's simulations predict that the future gravitational collapse is already detectable on the outer surface density structure of the cloud. In 200 thousand years Barnard 68 will become a low mass star (bets are welcome). And even more provoking, what if Barnard 68 is not the exception (again). See Press Release here.
