A Very Large Telescope/NACO Study of Star Formation in the Massive Embedded Cluster RCW 38

VLT Adaptive Optics imaging of a very young cluster still embedded in its mother cloud. The cluster is the poster child of embedded clusters in both Hemispheres, with a centrally concentrated structure around a O5 star, with deeply embedded protostars and a probable protostellar jet, and extended cometary objects suggesting photo-evaporating disks. What's not to like about it? The paper is here and there is also a beautiful ESO Press Release.
